Meet the Teachers

Lauren Male

Where I was Born: Bethlehem Pennsylvania, I moved to Colorado when I was four, so I basically consider myself a native of our beautiful state.

Favorite time of the year: Spring. I love the feeling of renewal and new beginnings that comes along with this season. Few things make me happier than blooming flowers and budding branches. Plus, my birthday is in April, which makes it even better.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and boyfriend. Live music, dancing, and yoga take up my leisure time.

Favorite Movies: The kid movies that have managed to make it into my movie collection include all of the Disney classics, such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King. Toy Story and Monsters INC are two more that crack me up. Kung Fu panda is a new favorite of mine as well.

Teaching Style: My teaching style reflects who I am in many ways. I have a natural connection with children and interact with them on their level. I tend to come off as a goofball, and I never hesitate to do silly things to make kids feel happy and comfortable with me. My boyfriend often says that I work so well with kids cause I am one myself.

The other side of me, however, is the educated, experienced, and motivated side. I have worked with children in an early childhood education setting for the past five years, and have learned so much that helps me to be an effective teacher. I currently study behavioral sciences at Metro State, and in the past three years of my schooling I have studied child development from many theorists' perspectives.

When you combine a truly childlike spirit, with an education in childhood education, you get me, Miss Lauren, a teacher who is fully committed, equipped, and ecstatic to be joining the Baby Power team. I look forward to being an educational and enjoyable part of your children's lives.
